Although love maybe imperfect, it has the ability to progress with time, patience, dedication, affection, and admiration, just to mention a few.![]()
"Dates and all the things I tell you" is a collection of poems written for someone who has influenced Seye's life. My favorite poem that effects the purpose of this book is on page 48; "In a city of lights and lies... …My world is brightened By Just one woman." (Purchase your copy of the book to see the full poem) With this book, Seye did not need to try to make poetry perfect, his simplicity is perfection on a different level. "Dates and all the things I tell you" is about love and how it is one special thing in a man's big world and at the same time, one big thing in a man's special world. Seye portrays love as an imperfection that invades one heart. Although love maybe imperfect, it has the ability to progress with time, patience, dedication, affection, and admiration, just to mention a few. Seye did not fail to show how love turns a grownperson into a child full of questions, asking; When? How? Why? "What if I sent you a letter and you receive it before the mailman...?" (Excerpt from Page 42, Dates and all the things I tell you) This is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and I will read over again.
