I was playing in my head today and it occurred to me that although they are the same amount, half a million dollars sounds richer and more expensive than five hundred thousand dollars. To confirm my thoughts I asked my sister and she said “Half a million will get people thinking of MILLION first before their brain realizes that it has to split it into half…”

What I want to bring out of this scenario is that it not really your circumstances or possessions or qualities that defines you and how people perceive you, it is how you present them. To me, the person that says half a million sounds like someone with a vision, hope and possibility of getting to that one million unlike the person that says $500,000.

I am not saying that you should pretend or lie about your problems. I believe that the first step to solving most problems is thinking and acting positively about it. If you can't change the situation, change how you see or think about the situation.
