Kolade's words, with the beauty, appreciation, and romance that he put to love in this collection tempts me to take my words back about celebrating being Single to Stupor. He writes in a way that makes you want romantic attention from a significant other. He skillfully writes the way that many females want to be loved these days. The poems in Love Diary compel attention to a man who wants to give love thoughtfully and wisely. Kolade's words prospers in simplicity. His words gush, lush, and flush emotions of admiration towards the one he loves in this Love Diary. If he has been reading Tolu Akinyemi's books, I will say he has received learning well. His words come into one’s thoughts like water and translate themselves like fireworks. The poems are very easy to understand and they kidnap one's attention to keep flipping the pages. The main theme in this collection, love, is comparable and well related to Pyrokardia’s works, A Beautiful Mess and Broken Wishbones and Empty Spaces. Another part of Love Diary that daunts me are the appealing photographs that accompany the poems. It excites me to see a group of black women and queens portrayed beautifully in this collection. The poems also play a role in the way that you perceive the models in Love Diary. This free a pre-publication towards his upcoming book highly convinces me that he is an excellent, well experienced writer and incurable romantic. Love Diary makes me thirst for his upcoming project “Only Just a Boy,” with confidence about the quality of its contents. I highly recommend this collection to everyone who is interested in poetry and to people who are very curious to know what love and admiration from a lover could feel like. Comments are closed.
