I was playing in my head today and it occurred to me that although they are the same amount, half a million dollars sounds richer and more expensive than 500,000 dollars. To confirm my thoughts I asked my sister and she said
“Half a million will get people thinking of MILLON first before their brain realizes that it has to split it into half…”
What I want to bring out of this scenario is that it not really your circumstances or possessions or qualities that defines you and how people perceive you, it is how you present them. To me, the person that says half a million sounds like someone with a vision, hope and possibility of getting to that one million unlike the person that says $500,000.
Present your life as good as you will write a resume or CV. Shape your circumstances whether good or bad to function for you. Optimism gives you hope, it opens doors for opportunities beyond your reach. If your situation, finances and emotions are telling you that your glass is half empty, look on the positive side and act, say or think like the glass is half full.
I am not saying that you should pretend about your problems. I believe that the first step to solving most problems is thinking and acting positively about it.
